MERIDIAN — Two people are dead after a rollover crash near the Ten Mile Road overpass Tuesday afternoon.
Idaho State Police say the crash was reported around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say a 1986 Toyota 4-Runner was eastbound on the off-ramp when the truck failed to stop at the intersection with Ten Mile Road. The vehicle crossed all lanes of traffic on Ten Mile Road and went off the eastbound on-ramp. It launched about 20 to 30 yards down a steep hillside and landed on its top.
The Ada County coroner says Betty Jean Stapleton, 83, of Nampa, died at the scene. Blunt force trauma is listed as the cause of death. She was a passenger in the vehicle.
Police say the male driver has also died, but his name is not being released at this time.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
