Tangerine teenager in Volusia I-4 wreck dies – Daytona Beach News

Brandy Howard, 17, of Tangerine, died at Halifax Health Medical Center at 9 p.m. Monday, said FHP’s Sgt. Kim Montes.

Charges are pending an investigation, Montes said.

Montes said Howard was one of several passengers Sunday in a Jeep driven by Kaley Terry, 19, of Winter Park, who was westbound on I-4. Another vehicle, a Nissan car driven by Jean-Claude Baker, was also westbound on I-4, struck the right side of Terry’s Jeep when Baker made a sudden lane change just after 5 p.m.

Terry’s car overturned after Baker hit it, Montes said.

“There were several passengers in both vehicles, but the crash remains under investigation,” Montes said. “Now that she (Howard) has passed, a traffic homicide investigation will be done.”

Baker suffered no injuries in the crash but Terry was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with minor injuries, Montes said.
