PORTLAND – A 59 year old woman is in the hospital after an accident on I-5 this afternoon.
This happened about 4:15 when it’s believed the rider locked up the rear wheels on their motorcycle. They were ejected off the bike onto the roadway. This was just before the Macadam Ave. off ramp.
This caused the northbound lanes of I-5 are to close down for nearly three hours.
Northbound travelers were advised to take 217 northbound to Highway 26 eastbound as an alternate route. Traffic was back up for miles

Editor’s Note: Initial reports from dispatchers indicated the rider had died. Medics took the victim to the hospital.
