Lanes reopened after I-4 crash near DeLand

Westbound lanes of Interstate 4 near DeLand reopened after a crash Sunday night.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. west of Graves Avenue. Westbound traffic was flowing three hours later.

Eastbound traffic backed up as rescue units treated and transported patients and cleared wreckage.

Westbound motorists were backed up at least 5 miles. Vehicles were diverted off the interstate at State Route 472.

The Florida Highway Patrol said two vehicles were involved. One was a Jeep that overturned. A woman in one of the vehicles was flown to a trauma center because of serious injuries.

The FHP said one person may have died in the crash, but that has not been confirmed.
