Lake man killed in Sumter County crash

A Lake County man was killed Saturday evening when an SUV ran a stop sign and smashed into the pickup he was riding in.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Arthur Miller, 59, of Lady Lake was a passenger in a Dodge Ram driven by 65-year-old Robert Plunk of Umatilla when the truck was hit shortly after 6 p.m. on County Road 229.

FHP said Clayton Andrew Dorey, 17, of Ocklawaha, failed to stop at a stop sign and drove his Dodge Durango into the passenger side of the Ram, which rotated and overturned.

Miller was taken to The Villages Regional Hospital, where he died, FHP said.
