HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -
A 10 year aged lady is passed and a 19 year aged lady is fighting for her life after their SUV flipped over Thursday morning on I-10 in Hancock County.
Seven people, members of dual families from Arkansas, were roving to a Alabama Gulf Coast for a beach vacation. Officials contend a motorist of a SUV told them he dozed off.
The 10 hour expostulate to Orange Beach finished in tragedy usually 12 miles inside Mississippi.
“We had a ’94 Toyota 4-Runner roving easterly bound,” pronounced Sgt. Johnny Poulos with a Mississippi Highway Patrol. “Vehicle left a roadway, motorist mislaid control of a vehicle, came behind onto a alley rolling over several times, ran off of a right side of a widespread ejecting dual passengers.”
Taliyah McGhee, 10, died after she was thrown from a SUV.
“Upon arrival, a sheriff’s dialect found her in a trees,” pronounced Jeff Myers with a West Hancock Volunteer Fire Dept.
Paige Matthews, 19, was also thrown from a vehicle. Authorities contend McGhee and Matthews were both sitting in a load are on a chair that had been added.
“There was a make-shift chair in a back of a automobile that was not bureau equipment. It was placed in there, apparently, out of another vehicle. It was tied down, cumulative with a draw strap. Definitely a cause in this crash,” Myers said.
Johnny Poulos with a Mississippi Highway Patrol pronounced there’s no law opposite modifying a car, as was finished in this case.
“The usually assign is still a seatbelt violation. This conditions could have been avoided,” Poulos said. ”This comfortless situation, we did have dual apart families in this automobile and there were some good decisions done and there were some unequivocally bad ones. Paige is during Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. The other survivors of a collision were treated and expelled from a hospital.
