Funeral arrangements made for Gadsden residents killed in plane crash

GADSDEN, Ala. (WAAY) The funerals for 4 of 5 Gadsden residents killed in a Colorado plane crash are this week.


40 year old Katrina Barksdale, her sons Kobe and Xander, and her nephew Solomon McDuffie will have memorial services on Tuesday at Crosspoint Community Church. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services are directing.

Katrina’s Obituary says she was an office manager for Keith McDuffie DMD.

Kobe and Xander were students at Mitchell Elementary School.

Solomon was an 8th grader at Westbrook Christian School.

Funeral arrangements for the other victim of the crash, Jimmy Hill, have not yet been announced.

The 5 died in a plane crash on March 22nd. The plane crashed into a reservoir in Colorado. The single engine Socata TBM-700 took off from Gadsden but was flying from Barlesville, Oklahoma to Montrose, Colorado at the time of the crash. Their bodies were recovered on Thursday.

The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.
