Deal expected in case of deleted jet ski crash video

An Australian visitor has been given two additional months to enter a plea for a hindering prosecution charge.

Prosecutors say Natasha Ryan deleted video showing the deadly jet ski crash last month, involving her boyfriend Tyson Dagley.

KHON2 received a copy of that video, we warn it is disturbing, and we will not be showing the actual crash.

This is the video Honolulu Police recovered from Natasha Ryan’s camera. Police say she deleted the evidence.

Natasha was here alone and I can tell you that she wasn’t thinking straight, and she thought in some ways that would be a good thing to do for Tyson,” said Walter Rodby, Ryan’s Attorney.

Rodby stood in for his client at an arraignment and plea Friday morning, receiving a two month extension. He says Ryan will mail in her plea on the misdemeanor charge, likely to plead guilty or no contest. She is free on 500 dollars bail.

“If a warrant were issued for her arrest in all likelihood it would never be served upon her because of where she lives, but she wants to take care of this. I mean she wants to resolve this. She wants to put this behind her,” said Rodby.

Her boyfriend Tyson Dagley was charged with Negligent Homicide in the third degree after Kristen Fonseca was killed early last month at Keehi Lagoon.

Earlier this week Dagley received 12 days in jail, credit for time served. He was also granted a deferral of acceptance of no contest plea, which means if he avoids any trouble for a year his record will be wiped clean.

Now Ryan hopes to resolve her legal problems.

“She has never been in trouble, very young girl. I believe she is 18, hard working, and once again came here on a vacation and made this mistake,” Rodby said.
