Crashes block traffic on I-4, State Road 528 Sunday

A pair of big crashes blocked traffic on two major Central Florida highways Sunday.

A car flipped over on Interstate 4 at Graves Avenue between Orange Camp Road and State Road 427 in Volusia County. The crash blocked the two westbound lanes for hours.

Florida Highway Patrol said one vehicle hit another while changing lanes. The driver and passenger in the second vehicle were both taken to area hospitals. The passenger in the second vehicle had critical injuries and was taken to Halifax Medical Center.

There was also a crash on the other side of I-4, where there were delays by onlookers.

In Orange County meanwhile, a crash involving a motorcycle stopped traffic on westbound State Road 528 near State Road 520. At least one person was airlifted to an area hospital.
