Crash kills child, injures 2 others

SUNRISE, Fla. –

A woman and two children were struck by a car Saturday night in Sunrise.

The crash happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. on North Pine Island Road, north of Oakland Park Boulevard.

Police said 37-year-old Natali Aljaouni was pushing her two sons in a stroller when a black BMW hopped the curb and slammed into them, crushing the stroller.

The 4-year-old boy died shortly after arriving to Broward Health Medical Center. The other child, an 8-month-old baby, was also taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he is in critical condition.

Aljaouni was also critically injured in the accident.

Police said the driver was cooperating with investigators. He told police he swerved to avoid another car just before striking the mom and two kids.

Ajaouni made a post to her Facebook page before the accident that reads, “I really love my life, appreciate all things god gave to me, my lovely family, my great husband, lovely sons and very good country. USA.”
