Rainy weather is causing a number of crashes this morning on Central Florida’s roadways.
Westbound on Interstate 4, a crash in backing up traffic to U.S. Highway 92 in Volusia County.
In Seminole County, the eastbound I-4 center lane is blocked by a crash near State Road 436.

Eastbound in Orange County, a crash near State Road 535 is causing backups.
Delays emerge at Kaley Avenue and extend to State Road 50.
Watch out for these crashes:
•County Road 455 is obstructed at Old Highway 50 in Clermont.
••Southbound on John Young Parkway a hit-and-run crash is blocking the road just north of State Road 417 at Town Loop Boulevard in Orlando.
•North Orange Blossom Trail at Clarcona-Ocoee Road is blocked by a crash.

Gary Glen Thompson, 53, was driving west on I-4 in Sanford when he lost control of his 2002 Ford at 2:45 p.m., FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said. The driver’s side of the vehicle collided with a sign, she said.
Thompson died later at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, Montes said.
A passenger, Tim Jim Lu, 16, also of Edgewater, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
No one stopped at the scene, Montes said. The crash remains under investigation and anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the FHP at 407-737-2213.

Thompson was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he later died. Thompson was wearing his selt belt, according to FHP. Alcohol tests are pending.
Tim Jim Lu, 16, of Edgewater, who was traveling with Thompson, received minor injuries from the crash.
No witnesses stopped after the crash, according to FHP. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact FHP at 407-737-22132.

SEMINOLE COUNTY –
All lanes of State Road 436 and Interstate 4 have reopened in Seminole County after a domestic dispute turned into a serious, multi-vehicle crash Sunday morning.
Altamonte Springs Police told News 13 the incident started as a domestic dispute when a woman driver was being chased by her husband, identified as 38-year-old Patrick Hicks, on Semoran Boulevard. We’re told she ran a red light and hit another driver, seriously injuring that driver.
At that point, Hicks caught up with his wife, dragged her out of the car and that’s when officers said he started beating on her.
The woman in the other car was seriously injured and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The wife was treated on scene with minor injuries, and may have been transported to Florida Hospital Altamonte.
Hicks was taken into custody.

Two men suspected of an armed robbery in Orange County were taken into custody after they fled from police east on Interstate 4 and crashed in Sanford, officials said.
Orange County Sheriff’s officials said the began when a man walking to his unit at the Lemon Tree Condominiums on Lakeway Drive was approached by an armed man about 5:47 a.m. demanding the victim’s money and car keys.
The suspected robber fled in the stolen Chevrolet Camaro and was spotted driving recklessly on John Young Parkway and then on Interstate 4. The car was headed into neighboring Seminole County.

The driver led police off I-4 and eventually crashed into a retention pond near a cemetery on State Road 46-A in Sanford said Kim Cannaday, a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
The driver fled on foot while deputies took a second suspect inside the car into custody.
The victim positively identified the man who robbed him as 21-year-old Sterling Anthony, said Capt. Angelo Nieves, a sheriff’s office spokesman. He was charged with robbery with a firearm and grand theft auto.
Anthony has been charged at least twice before in Volusia County with robbery.
The man inside the car was identified as James Earl Shuford, 22, and his charges are still pending.
They will be booked into the Seminole County Jail and later moved to Orange County.

SANFORD, Fla. –
A car stolen in a robbery crashed into a goat farm in Seminole County while being pursued by deputies, leading to the arrest of two men, officials said.
The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. Friday along County Road 46 near Interstate 4.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a man returning home at the Lemon Tree Condos in Orlando was approached by a gunman who stole his money and keys and took off in the man’s Chevrolet Camaro.
Seminole County deputies spotted the car on Interstate 4 and pursued the car, which exited at County Road 46A and crashed into a retention pond at the goat farm, officials said.
Two men, identified as 21-year-old Sterling Anthony and 22-year-old James Earl Shuford, were arrested.
Anthony faces charges of robbery with a firearm and grand theft auto. Shuford’s charges have not yet been determined.
The victim was not injured.

Authorities have two suspects in custody this morning after an armed carjacking and chase on Interstate 4 ended in a crash in Seminole County.
Several law-enforcement agencies responded to the scene of the crash at State Road 46-A near Rinehart Road in Sanford.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, at least one armed suspect approached a man at the Lemon Tree condominiums on Lakeway Drive, demanded the victim’s keys and drove off in his car.
When deputies spotted the suspected car on I-4, it took off, leading to a chase toward Seminole.
The car crashed in Sanford, and two suspects fled. One was quickly caught. The other was found after an extensive search of the area.
The victim was not injured, Orange deputies said.

Two robbery suspects were taken into custody after a chase and crash on busy Interstate 4 east early Friday.
Officials immediately took one suspect in custody, authorities then searched for the other and found him hiding in a nearby apartment complex.
The suspects were identified as 21-year-old Anthony Sterling and 22-year-old James Earl.
Investigators chased the robbery suspects, who were believed to be armed, until the their black Chevy Camaro crashed just off I-4 on County Road 46-A.
Ahead of the chase, the suspects stole the Camaro from its owner at gunpoint, according to investigators. The incident happened at the Lemon Tree condominiums in south Orange County.
The victim was not hurt in the robbery.
Detectives said the vehicle’s LoJack system helped law enforcement confirm the vehicle’s position, allowing officers to locate and pursue it.
Additional charges are pending in the case, but Sterling was immediately charged with armed robbery and grand theft auto.
