4 injured in Lake Simcoe crash

Four people have been injured in a single vehicle crash on Lake Simcoe.

Police say the vehicle was traveling on the ice when, for an unknown reason, it tipped onto its side.

Ornge officials said they transported one patient to Sunnybrook in critical condition. The man suffered injuries to his head and arms. Officials say his condition is now considered non-life-threatening.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Lake Simcoe just south of Thorah Island around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Three others suffered minor injuries.

Ornge officials originally said all patients were in critical condition.

Police in York Region say the marine unit is assisting in the investigation.

There has been no word on what caused the crash.
