Officers say a woman crashed into four cars and a barrier before going air bourne and hitting a Cumberland Farms. (7:58 AM)

FAIRFIELD – Four people are recovering after police say a woman crashed into a gas station in Fairfield last night hitting several cars along the way.

It happened around 9 p.m. when police say the driver sped down the I-95 off-ramp at exit 24.

Officers say a woman crashed into four cars and a barrier before going airborne and hitting a Cumberland Farms.

One of the cars had mother and baby inside.

Officers say the driver’s car caught fire and witnesses put out the flames.

Police say the driver was conscious when she was taken to the hospital.

Officials say the building has been deemed safe and is back open today.
