4 dead after head-on crash in Plant City

PLANT CITY (FOX 13) -

Four people are dead after a head-on collision in eastern Hillsborough County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers tell FOX 13 that a BMW lost control, crossed a median and slammed into a Cadillac.

The crash happened in Plant City on Highway 60 just east of State Road 39.

The area was closed but was reopened around 5:30 a.m.

There was male inside the BMW, and a male and two females inside the Cadillac. Troopers say no one was wearing seatbelts. They all died at the scene.

Troopers are now investigating why the BMW lost control, and if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

The driver of the BMW
was 31-year-old Rolando Silva. The driver of the Cadillac was 26-year-old
Joseph Vizcarrondo. One of the passengers in the Cadillac was 19-year-old
Lauren Phillps. The other passenger’s name has not been released.
