A crash involving two 18-wheel trucks shut down both northbound lanes of Interstate 49 near Woodworth south of Alexandria for more than 13 hours.
State police say the crash, which caused a load of coffee and coffee cans to spill across the lanes, occurred around 4 a.m. Thursday. I-49 North reopened to traffic around 5:30 p.m.
Troopers say the crash occurred between a truck driven by 33-year-old Tymondd Benjamin, of LaPlace and a tractor-trailer driven by 53-year-old Terry Swann, of Merritt Island, Fla.
State police spokesman Scott Moreau says Swann suffered moderate injuries. He says Benjamin had minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
